This Dixon WS Series hydraulic hose fitting is a brass coupler for use with a matching 78-Series plug to form a double shutoff, thread-to-connect hydraulic quick coupling designed to shut off automatically in both the coupler and plug halves when the unit is disconnected. The coupler has a thread-to-connect end for the coupling (not included) and female NPT threads on the other for connecting to a male threaded pipe or fitting, creating a tighter seal than straight threads. It is made of brass for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability, and the wing nut used for tightening is made of iron for high tensile strength. This hydraulic coupling component is suitable for use in applications requiring a coupling that can be connected under pressure with minimum spillage and air inclusion, such as dump trailer wet-line hydraulic systems and oil field equipment.
Tube fittings are components used for connecting, branching, terminating, and changing the direction of tubing in pneumatic and hydraulic systems. They are made of brass, stainless steel, polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), and other materials that resist corrosion and wear. Tube fittings have various types of connections, including threaded, welded, barbed, and push-to-connect (also called one-touch). Push-to-connect connections do not require tools or sealants. Tube fittings are used in various applications, including machine tools, airplane and truck controls, and automated production lines, among others.
Dixon Valve & Coupling Company manufactures pipe and hose fittings and accessories. The company, founded in 1916, is based in Chestertown, Maryland.
